 I have shown this story last year, but as I am teaching a lesson in light and shade values tomorrow I thought it was worth showing again, how important the light and shade ids to a painting. This is perfectly illustrated but this painting by June Gover, the amazingly inspiring lady and an artist. The picture above is of a painting of a tree at the entrance to Brachina Gorge, Flinders Ranges, South Australia.  June painted this work using Vegemite.
Tomorrow we will be using 5 tones mixed with black and white oil colour.
